The apartment was well-equipped with a fridge, gas stove, microwave, washing machine, dryer, and two large TVs, all inside the unit. It sits just a 5‑minute walk from a station on the L‑train blue line, and a fairly pricey supermarket is right across the street. The air conditioner, however, can be noisy when it turns on at night. My biggest gripe was the lack of communication from the apart‑hotel. I received an email with check‑in instructions two weeks after I’d already checked in. When I asked if I could order online to the hotel’s address, I got no reply, but the reception said yes. After four weeks of waiting, USPS sent all my packages back to the merchants because, contrary to the reception’s claim, USPS doesn’t deliver there. I’m still waiting for refunds, and if it weren’t for this incompetence, the rating would have been “great.”

The place is stunning, luxurious, and the staff is courteous and helpful. The hotel has two separate entrances: the eastern entrance at 354 N Union Ave and the western entrance at 355 N Halsted St. The eastern entrance is on a side street, almost traffic‑free, and much easier for ordering UBER/LYFT, etc.; a short walk also brings you to JEWEL OSCO for everything you need. The western entrance is on a main street and very close to FULTON MARKET, with a short walk to excellent restaurants and nightlife. We stayed on a relatively low floor (6) and in the first few days the noise from nearby train tracks and the street was very disturbing, but we got used to it and no longer noticed it. The room cleanliness was poor; housekeeping only occurs every two weeks, and even then it’s very basic—just changing sheets and towels and washing the floor, with no attention to cleaning under tables and chairs. Dust isn’t cleaned at all. When we asked, they gave us cleaning tools so we could clean ourselves, but the lack of cleanliness was definitely disappointing.
