“Mauvaise expérience, il y a mieux à Jawai”

The staff were smiling and friendly, and the bedding was fairly comfortable. The pictures looked better than the reality, which was very, very basic. When we turned on the tap, something came out… larvae? We didn’t dare take a shower. The food was very simple and there were no options for half board. When it was time to pay, international cards weren’t accepted, so we had to ask our driver’s employer to pay for us. To top it all off, they didn’t allow the driver to stay on site.

The rooms were spotless, and the staff went out of their way to meet every need, always kind and proactive. The morning safari was a bit underwhelming—not the hotel’s fault—because the park was crowded with jeeps and loud tourists, and you could only see leopards with about 100 other people around. We asked if the evening safari could be more secluded, ignoring the leopards, and the staff completely understood our request; it was magical, especially with the stunning lake. Absolutely recommended!

“Perfect”

This little gem in the remote Jawai is fantastic. From the very first minute we felt welcomed and at home. The rooms are excellent, the views during the leopard safari are amazing, and the exceptionally polite owner and Mr. Sanklaram add a special touch to the experience. 100 % recommended.

“Rural location, hospitality and seeing leopards made this a memorable stay for us”

It’s really easy to arrange leopard safaris from here. The room was comfortable with a nice outdoor sitting area, and the pool was a bonus. We enjoyed the food. A menu of drinks and snacks would have been helpful.

“Perfect place, excellent breakfasts/food”

We loved our time at Dera Jawai; if we visit Jawai again we’ll definitely stay here. The hotel feels very relaxed and chilled, with a beautiful layout, lovely rooms, and a pool. The food was excellent, the breakfasts plentiful, and the staff were so nice. We really enjoyed the pool and relaxing outside our tent on the veranda. It offers good value for money in Jawai, though Jawai is expensive for India, and I’m not sure why. The listing probably still says that it’s zero payment upfront, but this is not true and you will be asked to pay half upfront. Knowing that this booking website has faced hacking issues before the deposit request made me nervous, but everything was perfect.
