“Sveriges sämsta vandrarhem?”

The place feels like a rundown room. My colleagues who were supposed to stay there turned the door and called demanding new accommodation. When we checked the breakfast pot (which we paid extra for), it was also completely empty. The owner claims this is common in hostels, but it was probably the worst hostel we have ever seen. The windows were boarded up, there was no staff on site, it was dirty, and everything was simply not worth the money.

I found the stay at Näsbygården to be reasonably priced, with friendly service and spotless rooms; we were satisfied and will return.

“Fullständigt charmlöst, röklukt och mörkt i korridoren. Ej fungerande Wifi, smutsiga fönster.”

The only highlight was the self‑served breakfast.

I thought I’d booked a hotel room, not a hostel room, and expected staff to greet me, serve food, and offer a beer in the bar—so my expectations were completely off. As a hostel that’s fine, and it was good that there were rolled oats and lingonberry jam for making porridge. The downside was having to pay extra for a reasonably sized towel and the price of breakfast relative to what it offered.
