“Lovely but could use some work.”
The room was spacious and comfortable with a cute desk and sitting area that let in plenty of light. The owner’s dog was the cutest thing ever, a real ray of sunshine. The Greek restaurant downstairs was adorable, and everyone was very kind. Friday and Saturday nights featured a nightclub, a great idea to bring people together. The fountain in front was cute and offered a lovely view. I loved the antique pictures of the hotel, which is over 100 years old, and its gorgeous charm. We always try to book historical hotels, and this one didn’t disappoint. The outdoor area with trees and hanging plants was lovely, and the pool had a quaint, old‑world charm. The waiting room was spacious with a beautiful ambiance. Overall, a lovely hotel. The only downside was Room 210, which is undergoing renovations. I spoke with one of the nicest ladies in the hotel, who was very knowledgeable and helpful. Some honest feedback: the curtain didn’t close all the way and I had to use a hair clip to keep it shut—small detail but important for privacy. The balcony had chairs but no table, and the flooring could use a major revamp. A vase or plant would tie it together. The bathroom had a curtain that kept falling on my husband’s head and on me while I was showing it; we asked the lady to note it, and maintenance is supposed to address it today. The towel rack was rusted, and the left shower knob was extremely tough to turn, which made me nervous. These issues don’t do the hotel justice, but the staff, the area, and the furry concierge give the place a wonderful charm. Keep it up, and I look forward to booking again once these changes are made.
