I’d read some bad reviews about Colessio, but our stay was very good. The staff were friendly and efficient—shout‑out to Kyle, Cameron, and the young man who served breakfast (I didn’t catch his name). Thanks.

Set in a meticulously restored Victorian building, Hotel Colessio blends historic charm with modern luxury in Stirling’s centre. Guests enjoy on‑site parking (£10/24 h), complimentary Wi‑Fi, and a restaurant serving daily breakfast alongside a lively Wine Bar. Within a 7‑minute walk lie Stirling Railway Station, the city centre and Thistles Shopping Centre; the National Wallace Monument is 2.2 mi away, and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are a 30‑minute drive.

The location was beautiful—just a stone’s throw from Stirling’s old town and the nearby restaurants. The staff were welcoming, and the lobby had a nice bar and seating area. We stayed in a family suite that offered plenty of space, a tea/coffee station, and a mini‑fridge for cold drinks. The bed was huge and super comfortable! The hotel also welcomes dogs, and we’d definitely return.

The spot is spot on, just a 2‑minute walk to the main street full of restaurants and cafés, and Stirling Castle is only 10 minutes away, making it a perfect stopover to hit the main old highlights. Parking costs £10 for 24 hours, which is great if you want to leave your car while you explore. However, the hotel calls itself a boutique, but the standard double room felt more like a cramped space with no room for luggage and overly bright bedside lighting. The furnishings are starting to look worn, yet the bathroom is surprisingly large, classy, and the shower is good.

Everything was lovely, especially the luxurious bedroom with a gorgeous wide bath and a separate shower. I even found a reed diffuser in the room with the hotel name on it and a Morrison shop label at the bottom—smelled nice, fair play. Breakfast was excellent, offering a reasonable variety for me as someone with coeliac disease. Walking to the Albert Hall and town centre was super easy, which was a relief for my old knees. I've already booked again for Bloody Scotland next year.

The location was excellent, but the hotel seems more focused on maximizing profit than on delivering a great guest experience, with a minimum staff presence.
