The property is stunning, and staying there was a real pleasure that I can’t recommend enough. Serge and Peter were excellent hosts, offering suggestions on what to do and visit during our stay. Located at the river’s edge, the gardens were well maintained and offered many different seating areas. The house itself was breathtaking, and we didn’t want to leave. Every morning we had breakfast in the garden, featuring fresh fruit, freshly baked bread and croissants, and various eggs cooked by the garden chickens—an idyllic setting for a restful and relaxing stay. We loved everything!

The ancient villa is fantastic, surrounded by greenery, a wonderful garden, and a beautiful pool, with the option to stroll along the Dordogne. The room is spacious, furnished with vintage pieces that add charm, and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic, served in the garden with eggs cooked in every possible way on the spot, real fruit juices, yogurt, fruit salad, cereals, cheese, sweets, honey, and homemade jams. Coffee, tea, herbal teas, and water are always free. The two owners are lovely and kind, and they suggested and even booked us a dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent! I don’t particularly love the carpet in the room, there was no air conditioning (though there was a fan), and the bathroom was a bit small with an awkward sink.

The house and location are stunning, the garden is beautiful, the pool is excellent, and breakfast is lovingly prepared by Peter with free‑range eggs from their own chickens. The only downside was that it could have been a little cooler; no air conditioning in the bedroom left the fan working hard. I understand the fridge and coffee facilities are downstairs to keep rooms clean, but having some ice would have been a bonus.
