“Absolutely delightful stay with tremendous breakfast”

The host was very friendly and welcoming, the spot was great, bikes had safe undercover storage, the bedroom was huge and comfy with stylish furnishings, and breakfast was excellent with homemade preserves—no issues.

Alan and Valerie were very warm and left no wish unfulfilled; Alan even spoke German, which was handy. The place was quiet and had plenty of outdoor space to relax. We booked a triple room for two and could add a third person for a night on the spot. Breakfast was all homemade and freshly prepared. The room was clean, but some wallpaper had already peeled off in places, revealing a slight musty smell behind it.

“Aus einem Zwischenstopp wurden 4 Tage, so wohl haben wir uns gefühlt!”

The hospitality, service, and attentiveness of the hosts were extraordinary. When we set up our picnic on the terrace, the table was laid out with a tablecloth, wine glasses, porcelain plates, and cutlery (commentary: Vous etes en France!). The bathroom was cleaned and towels changed daily without us asking. A refreshing drink was offered upon arrival and breakfast was simply great and lovingly presented. The room had a very spacious bathroom with many hooks and storage options; the wardrobe could hold an entire suitcase. The location right on the bike path was ideal for us. We recommend Schloss Maintenon as a day trip, and Versailles is also easily reachable. Minor shortcomings like lock issues or some noise are more than offset by the hospitality.
