You can walk to a lookout point and see the waters of Tortuguero. The tours depart from the site. The host helped get the boat back to the parking lot. You receive good information beforehand on how to get there. The stay was less romantic.

Gloria and Sergio are very friendly and constantly ensure good service in the cabins and with the logistics/shuttles on boats. The canal tour with Sergio is great because he can spot animals with a unique ease, supplementing it with varied information. Gloria’s local breakfast is very tasty and plentiful. They could offer rubber boots, which would enhance the turtle tour or park excursions.

I liked the calm, the service, and being able to swim while seeing toucans on the neighboring tree. The location was a plus for us because it’s in a quiet area, though some might not appreciate that it’s in a different village from Tortuguero and only reachable by boat.

The air‑conditioning was useful even when it rained, the cleaning was daily, the pool was nice, the hosts were friendly, and there were many animals in the garden. The downside was that it’s far from Tortuguero, requiring a 10‑minute boat ride that costs $25, the bar next to the hotel was noisy, the rooms weren’t well sound‑proofed, and there was no way to dry clothes, which was difficult when it rained.
