The host Mandinga is very helpful and friendly, arranging various tourist services at good prices. The accommodation is quite clean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, always served with tropical fruit, are good and inexpensive. Keep in mind that lodging options at this price and quality in São Tomé are scarce. The soundproofing is weak, and I had no hot water for all five nights because the heater serving my room (and others) was broken. Most windows face the interior courtyard.

The hosts are amazing people; we asked if they could cook dinner for us each night during our stay, and they agreed for a very reasonable price, preparing several local dishes we requested and always ready to help. My son had a birthday while we were there, I ordered a cake from a bakery, and the hosts picked it up for us so we wouldn’t miss part of our day. Undoubtedly I’ll return to São Tomé and stay here again. The accommodation isn’t luxurious, but for the country’s reality it’s very good; the bed is very comfortable, only my room had a lot of natural light in the morning.

The friendliness and warmth of Mr. Antonio helped us rent a car and gave us useful tips. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit. Air conditioning was essential because the rooms got very hot during the day, but we were able to rest comfortably. Good value for money.
