Dar Toda - Zagora guest house

The staff were super nice! When we were on an overnight desert tour, they let us store our bags and helped us with our laundry even though we weren’t staying there anymore. They really try their best to accommodate guests and make them feel at home.

This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. When we arrived, there was nobody at reception and we had to wait for quite a while. Eventually, a woman happened to walk by and saw us. What we found very strange was that she did not ask for our ID, our names or our confirmation. She just said that she had heard that three women were coming and gave us a room. She had no way of knowing if we were actually the people who made the booking. This did not make us feel safe at all. The room we were given was not the room described in our reservation. The room information clearly stated that the triple room was air conditioned and had three beds. Instead, we were given a room with one double bed and one single bed, and there was no air conditioning at all. We mentioned this immediately and were told that this was only for now and that she would check later if another room was available. Unfortunately, nothing was changed. Later that evening, the room was still extremely hot and uncomfortable without air conditioning. We went to reception to ask for help, but again there was nobody there. We also tried calling several times and nobody answered. The toilet in the room was also very uncomfortable. It was basically inside the bedroom, with only a wall separating it and no proper enclosed bathroom. There was almost no privacy. If someone used the toilet, everyone else in the room could hear it, and any smell would go straight into the bedroom. For three people sharing a room, this was very uncomfortable. In the end, we decided to leave and book another hotel because we could not stay in that heat. Before leaving, we tried calling again because we wanted to return the keys, but still nobody answered and there was nobody at reception. We had no other option than to leave the keys inside the room. The whole experience also made us question the security of the hotel

Unfortunately I didn’t like anything. I didn’t stay in the accommodation. It does not match the booking description. The location is terrible. The accommodation was under construction. The room was tidy. The rest of the facilities were all in disarray. I didn’t stay. And I couldn’t cancel the reservation.

Everything was great – very friendly and helpful personnel, a beautiful room and a ridiculously cute dining area.

Breakfast was amazing, the staff treatment was fantastic and the common areas were very pleasant. The room was basic and you have to understand it’s a guest house. It met the basics but could improve.
