Extremely disappointing experience – would not recommend. My husband and I stayed here on October 16 while travelling from New Brunswick to Ontario for my grandmother’s funeral, and unfortunately, our experience was awful from the moment we arrived. We had received written confirmation that our late check-in between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. had been approved by the property, with no additional charge. We arrived at approximately 10:05 p.m., only to find the office lights off and the front desk employee outside smoking with two other individuals. When I approached her politely and gave her my name, she responded in an annoyed and confrontational tone, telling me the office was closed. She repeatedly sighed, acted as though we were inconveniencing her, and told us she shouldn’t even be giving us the room but would be charging us anyway. She also claimed the owner had texted me that the property was closed at 10:00 p.m., but I had received no such message. The only communication I received was the written confirmation approving our check-in between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The situation became even more uncomfortable when she spoke to my husband in a condescending manner, saying, “I don’t think you get what I’m saying. WE ARE CLOSED.” We were left genuinely wondering whether we were expected to find somewhere else to stay, despite having a confirmed reservation and having arrived within the approved check-in window. Shortly after we were finally checked in, two other guests arrived and were treated with the same rude and dismissive attitude. It was disappointing to see other paying customers spoken to in the same manner. We understand that late check-ins can require special arrangements, but when a property explicitly confirms a check-in time, guests should not be made to feel like they’re doing something wrong by arriving as instructed

The location was convenient and the bathroom had been renovated, but the linens were threadbare, the single duvet was covered by a sheet, and I had to request an extra blanket; there was no blackout curtain and the driveway and parking lot were full of potholes.

The room was nice, clean, and featured a large King bed; the corner spa tub was great for relaxing after travel, and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating; however, there was no closet for hanging clothes, only one waste bin (instead of separate ones in the bathroom and bedroom), no ice facility, no drinking glasses, and unlike most hotels or motels, this place did not offer a CAA or senior discount, which was a first for us.

The hotel was convenient and comfortable, but there were no disposable coffee cups in the room for take‑away and no ice available.
