“Rustic, simple accomodation in a beautiful garden setting with fantastic sunsets.”
Natural garden setting with views over the mangroves and toward Nosy Sakatia and Andilana. Simple. The toilets and shower are far from the bungalow.

La Table d’Alexandre Gîte de charme, nestled between mangroves and the sea in Hell‑Ville, offers direct beachfront access, a sun terrace, and a lush garden. Ground‑floor units feature private entrances, walk‑in showers, balconies, and outdoor furniture. The on‑site restaurant serves French, Japanese, local, and European dishes, with vegetarian and gluten‑free breakfasts. Free parking, bike hire, barbecue, and a tour desk enhance the stay.

I spent a single night and everything was perfect: the food was simply outstanding, with local ingredients cooked to perfection by Alexandre, and the service was top‑class. The bungalow offered an unbeatable view of the mangrove, and the conversations were both effortless and enriching. The only downside was that I only stayed one night.

I got a great chance to escape the tourist crowds; the house sits on a sprawling, verdant estate that borders a mangrove forest. Birds chirp all day and night, and from the terrace you can watch them in the morning. Three friendly dogs, two cats, and plenty of bright Phelsuma geckos roam the grounds. A 10‑minute tuk‑tuk ride takes you to Andilana Beach, where cafés and amazing underwater life await. Neighbors offer electric bikes, perfect for reaching the beach, but I had my own bicycle and felt completely safe here. Alexander is an excellent cook, and there are several nearby spots for breakfast or dinner. He owns two rooms in a beautiful house with a shared bathroom and a separate bungalow. The bungalow is simple, yet it provides an incredible sunset view. I highly recommend it if you value peace and authenticity over noisy, touristy spots. Mosquitoes are a fact of life in Madagascar, so be prepared. Alexander supplies mosquito coils for the room, and I suggest bringing a body spray.
