The location is perfect and the bay view is breathtaking. The room and bathroom were ultra‑clean, though there was carpet in the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable, it was very quiet, and the staff were welcoming with amenities still available after checkout—a real find! The only issue was the carpet in the room.

The Auberge des 21 in Saguenay won an excellence award across the board. We arrived and the busboy said, “arrange yourself with your room,” and we got two standard double beds. There was no internet except in a small corner of the inn, no lunch at all, and the kitchen was shut for two shifts. No dinner, so no room service.

The room was huge and the free parking was a plus, plus we were close to restaurants and the boat rides. But the welcome was cold and the staff in the late afternoon gave us wrong info about the fjord shuttles being finished. No drinks, not even water, and the bar was closed – a real let‑down. I asked if a ground‑floor room was possible because of our big suitcases and no elevator, but they just said it was full without even checking. The carpet was dirty and the room didn't smell good.

This place is right next to the volcanic park and the fjord quay, so the location is unbeatable. Plenty of parking, and the view from the windows is stunning. The staff at the front desk speak French, which was helpful. Breakfast isn’t included, but the receptionist pointed me to a good spot in town. The hotel itself is spotless and very quiet, so I was very satisfied with my stay.

The hotel has solid facilities that made my stay comfortable, but the parking situation was a hassle. I had to drive around a bit to find a spot, which was frustrating after a long day. Other than that, everything else was fine.
