Angela cooked excellent breakfast and coffee, was courteous and friendly—kudos to her. Check‑in was hostile and terrible; the front door was locked and no ringing, texts, calls, or emails got a reply from Kathleen, making me feel unwelcome. I later found a note on the front door with a secret code to punch in. After standing outside for over an hour in the cold, I booked another hotel for $107. Kathleen’s lack of professionalism was shocking; would she compensate me with $107? My room was in the attic with no elevator, so I had to carry my luggage up two flights of steep stairs—very disappointing overall. Not recommended.

The location was fabulously beautiful and quiet; the host was lovely and readily available. Breakfast was amazing, lovingly prepared and served. The room lock could not be closed properly; the lock was improperly installed, though this may not apply to all rooms.

The house is very pretty. But if you just want to stay overnight, it’s too expensive. The rooms under the roof had a very cramped bathroom. The host is reserved but friendly. She put a lot of effort into the breakfast, which we appreciate. The bathroom’s toilet seat needs to be replaced; the rim is completely yellowed. The room with balcony access is very cold and drafts through the cracks.

The environment was quiet and calm; the transport and check‑in were easy. We felt like living in an American family, a different experience for us. Thanks to Angela and Kathleen for their hospitality! There was hardly any problem. Our room was on the roof, so it was a bit cramped, but we came knowing that.
