The host was friendly, but the accommodation sits on the top floor, requiring a climb of at least four flights with no elevator—carry large luggage only if you’re sure. Cleanliness needs improvement: the floor creaks and other items are dusty, and the bathroom drainage is poor, sometimes flooding. The location is decent, yet at night people gather outside the building, making the walk feel a bit uneasy.

The place is strategically located at the end of Via Maqueda, just a 10‑minute walk from Quattro Canti. Inside a historic building, the double room is cozy and spacious, with an extra single‑bed room and a bathroom. There’s no private parking; cars must be parked on nearby streets, though we usually found a spot about a 5‑minute walk away (via Filippo Corazza and adjacent lanes). The owners were extremely courteous and helpful, especially Andrea, who made us feel at home and even invited us for gelato on our last night—a rare warmth and attention that left a wonderful memory. The downside is that the room is on the top floor, so the stairs can be tiring with luggage, though the owners mentioned they’re working on installing an elevator in the future.

The room was clean, the bathroom new, the room had air‑conditioning, and it was easy to reach the main train station and the city’s attractions; traditional Italian markets are right around the corner opposite the accommodation, and at Dedko Talian café you can get great coffee and croissants or pastries for a few euros—my wife and I had a pleasant holiday.

The owner is extremely kind, the location is great, and there are some stairs in the building that aren’t worth the trouble.
