“The stay was awful”
Nothing about the hotel or room appealed to me. When we arrived, there was no one at the counter, so we waited 5–10 minutes for someone to appear. The room was dirty, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and it was noisy because people were fighting in the room next to us all night.
“The staff is very friendly and helpful tge bed was comfortable and the AC worked perfectly.”
Every room faces the outside, so there are no creepy hallways and you can get to your car quickly.
The spot is great because it’s so accessible and right next to Fork Jackson. But the facilities are starting to fall apart and need attention; the cleaning service and towel/bed sheet changes could use a serious upgrade, and there isn’t enough staff to get breakfast ready on time.
“Cockroaches and unfriendly staff”
I slept in my car because there was nothing else. A lot of small cockroaches and one huge one (see photo) roamed around; the staff said it was normal for all hotels. I asked for a refund, but they first denied it, then spent 20 minutes entering information into the computer at 1 am, and promised a refund that I still haven’t received.
“GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! NASTY”
It was a true roach motel. After a long day at Fort Jackson, I woke up at 10 pm to find roaches crawling from the landline phone on the bedside table between the two beds. I killed one, packed up, and drove 15 hours home with no sleep except a brief car nap at a rest area. The place was nasty and not clean at all; the maids rummaged through our stuff and took photos of how I left it and when we returned. People across the hall were homeless, slamming doors all night and smoking weed in a no‑smoking hotel.
