Excellent service, even though we were early for check‑in, we were allowed to leave our luggage in our room and were given the key. The staff was very attentive to our needs. The walls are paper‑backed, and we can hear everything that happens around our room.

My booking was CANCELLED while I was on the plane, allegedly due to an invalid DEBIT card (I use credit cards) and the email telling me so wasn’t sent until after I left Amsterdam. This left us standing in the street in Mestre at 11 pm. The host did arrange for us to book into another hotel. Given that the card I used worked perfectly well for the airline tickets I consider them at fault. Their incompetence left us in a distressing situation.

There was no breakfast, but I was happy to have an electric kettle and proper coffee mugs. I brought my own coffee to make, and I do pour‑overs.

Location – very close to the train station, nice bathroom. Extremely noisy; very white, uncomfortable lighting.
