The hotel had a charming vibe and well‑decorated interiors, the shower delivered hot water, and the staff were helpful—offering a free coffee when I was rushing for an early flight. It was a good deal for the price. However, it turned out to be farther from the airport than I thought, about 15–20 minutes by car, so I had to haggle with taxi drivers on arrival; my colleague eventually paid around PHP 250–300 but didn’t get a receipt. There is no elevator, and a kettle or boiler in the room would have been a nice touch.

We had a great stay at Mactan Central; the place is tidy, the owner was very accommodating and friendly, it feels safe, and it’s close enough to the airport that we’ll definitely come back with our kids when the time is right.
