The view from the location was spectacular.

The hotel felt family‑friendly and everything ran smoothly; the excursion itself was excellent. However, the accommodation was cancelled by Booking, forcing us to rebook at a massively higher rate, excluding breakfast.

The views were very good, and the food was very tasty, but the rooms lacked soap.

When we arrived, the hotel (or the booking site) had quoted us a ridiculously low rate for a reservation made six months earlier, so we took a chance despite not knowing the place. Even with the confirmations in hand, the front‑desk clerk launched into a long justification, claiming it was an error (who’s at fault, the site or them? certainly not us) and insisting the price couldn’t possibly be right, his tone sounding indignant. Because we’d already driven out and it was getting late, we finally settled on the “today’s rate” of $90 per night including breakfast that he kept mentioning, and he threw in a measly 15 % discount – how generous! To make matters worse, the on‑site restaurant was closed that evening, forcing us to drive 10 km to a convenience store, haul the food back up the winding, poorly maintained road and eat it in our room. The property felt like a ghost town at night, with almost no one around except the guests upstairs. The room itself looked like a 1960s hunting lodge, complete with an ugly old carpet that reeked of mildew, dampness and dust, tiny lamps that couldn’t be plugged in because there were no outlets, a shower that barely dripped, and a general lack of cleanliness that left a foul smell. There was no TV, no coffee maker, nothing besides a tiny soap bar and a few towels. The only “nice” thing was the terrace view of the hills down to the sea – a sight you could see from the road anyway, and nothing else.
