The hotel sits in a central spot, the breakfast is decent, and the price is fair. Unfortunately, the family room is too small, the toilet lids wobble, the silicone seal has already peeled off, and the shower door struggles to close, sometimes opening on its own. Parking costs are outrageously high, and the double bed feels too tight for two people.

Checked in without hassle, though the room felt a tad cramped, yet it was workable. The breakfast spread was solid, and both the old town and the train station are just a short walk away.

We chose this hotel on the outskirts as a base for exploring Black Forest villages. Walking to the city center takes about 25 minutes, a clear advantage over city‑center hotels that you can’t reach by car. The room was decent, the bed comfortable, and it was well insulated from noise. Value for money was acceptable. Parking at the hotel is pricey and scarce; we ended up parking at a nearby Lidl, which was the best option. The staff seemed to laugh at us when we asked for housekeeping; if you don’t notify them, they won’t clean even if you stay several days. They were never friendly or helpful.
