I wish there were more places like this—far from the usual tourist spots, it felt truly local. The staff and everyone around were genuinely friendly, clearly caring beyond just serving us. It was a lovely experience, and I’m grateful.

The mattress was comfortable and the accommodation itself was nice. Before booking, we asked if Grab could reach the place because earlier reviews mentioned access problems, and they said there was no issue. But when we got to the address shown on Booking and Maps, we found an extra 10‑minute drive on steep, rocky roads that weren’t on the map. We had to pay extra, and the Grab driver was kind enough to bring us up. Not all Grabs could make the trip because of the poor road conditions. When we finally arrived, the staff told us the chef was unavailable, so the kitchen was closed. We weren’t told this beforehand, and with the remote location and no nearby options, we could only buy instant noodles at the accommodation. We would have liked that info ahead of time. We also couldn’t find a Grab to leave, even when we tried scheduling one through the app. The accommodation doesn’t provide transport unless it’s to the airport, so we ended up paying local drivers to get us out, which was very inconvenient and caused us to lose a lot of time. Additionally, the accommodation is far from the reception, and the staff poorly indicated how to reach it; they didn’t show us the path, which was also annoying.

The surroundings were pretty and the room was lovely. The staff were friendly, but there were a lot of bugs. Getting there was tough—steep hill on a rocky road. They advertised activities, but we couldn’t do any because apparently we needed to book in advance. It was advertised as a place where you can do things, yet there wasn’t anything happening while we were there. It felt quite deserted.

The location was stunning up in the plantation with fantastic views! The staff were friendly and cooked us some food for the evening as an addition to our booking, and the meal was delicious!

Wow—what a location! The accommodation was clean and comfortable on top of a hill with amazing views. It’s a rare spot to get good views in the tropics, so it was a huge surprise. The hilltop setting with nice gardens around the buildings made it feel very isolated, and the room was very comfortable even though it was ‘minimalistic’—adequately air‑conditioned to suit one’s needs. Outside the room, there was a pleasant seating area to enjoy the tropics when it wasn’t too hot or humid. Facilities for cooking/barbecue were available, and meals were offered at a very reasonable extra charge. The local dishes were very nice. It was a perfect place to watch sunrise and sunset—amazing with tropical forest and plantation views across hills and valleys. Getting here was best done with a car rental for easy access up a gravel track clearly sign‑posted off the main road, surprisingly high up and less than 20 minutes from the airport. Exploring the local area was then easy as well. The staff were friendly but not intrusive—always smiling. The only downside was that the real tropical forest/plantation area means real mosquitoes—be prepared!
