This place is the top pick in Florianópolis if you want to meet travelers from all over; the host is laid‑back and always has solid day‑by‑day sightseeing tips. The only snag is that the cheap bunk on the second floor is a bit of a climb for a larger guy, but otherwise everything was great.

The hostel’s vibe, the pool, and its walk‑able spot near downtown made me feel right at home. The only thing missing was an en‑suite bathroom in the private room.
