The view was the only thing that made up for the lack of window screens. In the hot summer, opening the windows let a swarm of mosquitoes in and I couldn't sleep. If you’re looking for a summer stay, this place is better in winter.

The location is a dream for mountain lovers who want peace. The terrace offers a gorgeous view and the restaurant has a great menu, though the prices are on the high side. The hosts are very friendly, but there are no screens on the windows and the rooms get too hot, so you’ll have to keep them open.

We had a great time. Dinner two nights was tasty, breakfast was varied with fresh items, and the staff were very kind and attentive. We’d love to come back in summer for lunch on the nice terrace under a big tree.

A quiet guesthouse and restaurant close to Appenzell, in a small town with a church. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed eating on the patio with views of the town. The only downside was that there’s no elevator, so you have to haul your luggage up the stairs.

The bedroom had spectacular views and the outdoor seating was lovely. Nothing else to add.
