“Everything felt like a hassle rather than a relaxing stay”

The spot was convenient. Parking was full, so we had to pay for a lot 10 minutes away (they claimed 1 minute but it was actually 10); breakfast was not included, and the reservation promised a view but they said they couldn’t secure that. From the beginning everything was a “no.” They emailed that if I checked in online I’d receive a free water bottle as a thank‑you, yet upon arrival they said the water was free but the bottle was not, so I had to leave it. We were stopped by police to confirm we had permission to be inside Ronda’s old town, and the hotel promised to ensure the car was registered, but the whole process felt like a hassle, not a vacation.

“Tolle Aussicht”

The location is great. The view from the pool and breakfast area is fantastic, and the house is very lovingly decorated. We didn’t get the room we booked – two single beds with a view – and finding a parking spot was a struggle; walking 450 m with heavy luggage over cobblestones was tough. In the evening we tried to have drinks on the terrace, but that was only allowed for “dining guests.”

The spot is spot on, and if you snag a room with a view it’s gorgeous. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. I was shocked to learn I’d paid the same rate for a room without a view as people pay for ones with a view, and on some days those view rooms are even half price. When I booked I had no idea the hotel had separate categories for view and no‑view rooms, so maybe the view rooms were already taken. Either way, the price I paid for a no‑view room was totally unreasonable. The breakfast was also a let‑down: by the time we got down, most of the hot dishes were gone. For a hotel at this price point I’d expect a better spread and overall higher quality. The on‑site restaurant didn’t help either – the service was poor, the food mediocre, and the view was blocked by stained plastic sheeting. Plus none of the staff spoke English, which is odd for a Michelin‑listed spot. I can’t recommend the restaurant and feel the hotel offers poor value for money.

The view of the bridge and the convenience for exploring Ronda are very good. The hotel feels quite “tired”; the main issue was a terrible smell in the bathroom that they couldn’t fix, which is unacceptable for a four‑star hotel at that price.
