The room was nice and clean, but the shower water was lukewarm at best, the shower door wouldn’t stay closed, and the bathroom door kept rolling open—very frustrating trying to shower without hot water and with doors that won’t stay shut.

We hosted our son’s rehearsal dinner on Oct 3 at the Blue Lacy, and the staff—restaurant manager, bartender Jim, and chefs—were outstanding; the 50 guests loved the food, bartending, and overall vibe. We liked everything; our room was a little small, but that was our own fault.

The location is excellent and the restaurant is convenient, but the window shades aren’t ideal, the barn door to close off the toilet is inconvenient (a pocket door would be better), and while bikes are a great idea, it’s ridiculous to require a $1,400 charge per bike if it gets stolen while borrowing it; the hotel should just insure those bikes.

The spot is great and getting in and out is a breeze; parking is just across the street. The family in the adjoining room with the connecting door woke up at 7:00 AM and I could hear every word they said, and I kept getting a flood of emails and text messages.

The neighborhood is lovely, close to restaurants, a park, and a kids’ museum, and the staff were friendly. Check‑in was quick, and when we asked for a quieter room with two queen beds, the hotel switched us to another one. The first room’s AC was unbearably loud, with a constant cranking noise whenever it started, so I couldn’t sleep that night. The second room was much better. Parking isn’t separate; it’s in the paid lot across from the hotel, and it wasn’t clear that we had to go to the hotel to scan the parking information, which caused the parking system to keep sending payment reminders that we had to email them about. The price also jumped for the holiday, making our first night feel even less worthwhile.
