“Nao traga sua familia pra esse lugar, horrivel!”
Only the location is decent. The whole room smelled of mold, there were a million mothballs, no hot water on a cold day, and the room looked like an egg. Horrible, never going back!

Located in Rio’s Barra da Tijuca district, Beach Guest House sits just 250 m from the beach. It offers air‑conditioned rooms with private bathrooms, free Wi‑Fi, private parking, and flat‑screen satellite TVs in select rooms. Guests enjoy a shared kitchen, water‑sports gear, complimentary bicycles, billiards, darts, and easy access to Copacabana (20 km), Barra Olympic Park (10 km), and Santos Dumont Airport (29 km).

The location is great, right near the beach. In the room we stayed, the bathroom door jamb was rotten, showing that maintenance or renovation hasn’t been done in a long time; everything was very old and worn, with no stained glass, just a noisy and cold exhaust fan. The room had only a 20 cm window, so it was totally unventilated, smelling of mold, dark and stuffy. The entrance door was glass, so any conversation or movement in the corridor sounded inside the room. On the first night we noticed the bedding was stained with blood and the two bath towels were damp. No staff were present at night. The house was completely open; anyone, guest or not, could come and go whenever they wanted. Total insecurity, as there was only a doorman at the condominium entrance, not at the lodge. We stayed 5 nights and the bedding and towels were never changed. The toilet waste wasn’t collected, so we improvised with grocery bags. The bedding and towels were washed on the property and hung on a floor line, which doesn’t provide proper hygiene for accommodation. In short, I don’t recommend it. For the price charged, there are better stays in the city.

The location is very good, safe, and well situated; we were warmly welcomed, guided, and when I needed something I was promptly attended to—everything was very good. The beds are a little hard, but nothing that can’t be tolerated 😊

We arrived very early and had a place to drop our luggage, which was great for staying close to Rock in Rio. The spot is well‑located, quiet, calm, and near the beach. I’d definitely come back.
