The bed was fine, but check‑in was extremely slow—25 minutes—, the computers kept crashing, the front desk staff were inexperienced young girls, and it improved only after the manager intervened; more competent front‑line staff are needed.

The room was shabby and located at the bottom of steep stairs that were difficult to manage; it needs renovation and its location is poor, especially for a senior with disabilities.

As I stated in my message to the hotel weeks prior to our stay, our family of 4 adults would be arriving late for our room. As stated below, when we arrived our 2 queen bed room was gone and we were left with the only available room which had just 1 queen bed. The man at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful, but the woman who was also working brought us two rollaway cots and plenty of bedding. Obviously I didn't get her name, but the people on staff the night of September 19, 2026 know who you are. Thank you to this very helpful person. I booked a room with 2 queen beds for my family of 4 adults through this 4 weeks before our stay. At that same time I messaged the hotel and explained that we would be on a very late flight and would be arriving after 11pm. When we arrived we were told by the front desk attendant that the only room available was a room with 1 queen bed. I explained that I paid for two queen beds and he said that since I booked through a third party service, he was unable to "see any of our requests", he could only see that we booked a room. In all my years of booking through third party agencies, I've never had a front desk claim they "couldn't see" our requests. A room with 2 queen beds costs more than a room with 1 queen bed, he could plainly see how much I was charged when I booked the room. That's a ridiculous excuse for what he obviously had done, given the room we paid for to someone else and left us, the latecomers, with no other options. He explained that there was an event in Duluth and all the other rooms were booked. What choice did we have but to squeeze ourselves into a room with one bed? Had there been some amount of sympathy or an offer to reimburse us for the difference, our experience would at least have been validated. But he simply looked at us and said that I should ALWAYS book directly through the property. Truly dismal customer service

nice room, decent bed. Shampoo dispenser was empty or not working. No coffee in the room. One lightbulb was out over the mirror. No elevator. Price was verry high
