The staff were fantastic, welcoming you with a drink in a room overlooking Mount Fuji when the weather permits. The room itself was beautiful, traditional, and the private onsen was exactly what we wanted. They also offer public onsens where men and women can enter together, and once the door is closed it becomes exclusive to your group—a real luxury after days touring Japan. Smoking isn’t allowed inside, but there’s a ashtray at the entrance for smokers. Dinner and breakfast were very good. It was a bit pricey for one night, but a luxury we decided to indulge in. The approach to the hotel is a steep slope, but a transport service is available if requested; we chose to walk.
