We booked large family rooms but ended up in regular double rooms, which were really cramped. They wouldn't move us to the bigger rooms, which was a bit frustrating. The breakfast was pretty basic too.

The staff were friendly and the hotel had everything we needed, plus it wasn't too pricey during peak season and was close to some popular spots. However, we were surprised that the room didn't have basic stuff like a smoke alarm or an escape route map - it's a bit worrying from a safety perspective.

The location was perfect, but that's about it - the room was dirty, the decor was worn out, and the renovation looked old. The hot water was super limited, probably from a tiny 20-liter boiler, and it was freezing in the room.
