“Ottima esperienza, cena fantastica”

The interior is really beautiful. The room is spacious, traditional style with a futon and a view of the woods. Service is excellent. The onsen is very pleasant and quiet. Dinner and breakfast menus are truly great, with impeccable service. The location is quite isolated, which is nice if you’re after peace; around there are only forests, and you can walk straight out of the hotel, although several trails are closed because they’re not maintained. The lounge with free drinks all night is very welcoming. There isn’t much around, which worked for us because we wanted tranquility, but you should know that if you choose this place.

“Stunningly beautiful surrounding landscape, traditional and aesthetic accomodation”

If you can get a car during your trip, I would absolutely recommend staying here; it’s off the beaten path but truly stunning. We went in summer and the landscape was incredibly lush and green. This was admittedly our biggest spend on the trip and we chose to have a private stone bath in the room, and I can say without hesitation that I have zero regrets—I wish we could have spent more time.

“Good place for retreat and nice rooms but could be cleaner and food could be better.”

The hotel is in a great location and the traditional rooms are charming. The private onsen was pleasant but far too small for two people, and the room was far from clean, with dust on the TV, windows and vents; for the price we expected much more. Service was also below what the rate suggests, and the dinner setup could have been better—our meals arrived covered in plastic, there was no water, no paper towels, and the food was just average. Breakfast was merely okay. We’ve stayed at other ryokans with better service and lower rates. The staff were friendly, but that alone wasn’t enough.
