Located on tropical Sentosa Island in Southern Singapore, Amara Sanctuary Sentosa offers panoramic views of the South China Sea. This resort is a 3-minute walk to Palawan Beach and 3 minutes from Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa casino. It features 2 dining options, 4 outdoor pools, and a free return shuttle to Harbourfront.

The location is close to the beach, but the breakfast lacked variety and there were few halal options.

Set on a lush, spacious lot that feels very tropical, the resort offers a breezy, open vibe and is just a few minutes’ walk to the beach walk and the main bus stop, making it ideal for a Sentosa stay. The beach even has a convenience store nearby. Our family of four stayed in a roomy family suite with a large bathroom, and the amenities were complete; the supplied shampoo smelled great, which I appreciated even though I usually bring my own. The complimentary soft drinks and snacks in the mini‑fridge were a nice touch, and the water purifier and free ice were useful. The front desk also offered a detox‑water service, which I liked. However, the front desk hospitality fell short of my expectations. The staff were polite and smiled, but their explanations were lacking overall. I arrived around noon and was told I could be in my room by about 2 pm; I came back at 2 pm only to find the room still not ready, forcing me to wait uselessly in the lobby. If they couldn’t give a reliable ready time, they should have called when the room became available. I also wish they’d verbally explain the complimentary services and hotel offerings. The concierge desk was empty, there was no call button, and the check‑in staff didn’t acknowledge me or offer help. When I asked about island attractions, they simply said they didn’t know and told me to find out myself. I booked a Sentosa resort knowing it would be pricier than the city, hoping to enjoy the resort fully, and I expected the staff to show maximum professionalism. Also, the pool, which looked like it was set in a forest and could have been relaxing, felt deserted with no staff in sight and no clear sign where to get towels, so I never really felt like using it. With a bit more effort, it could be much more appealing.
