Mama is friendly and welcoming and makes good breakfasts. The accommodation is compact but functional. The cleanliness and condition of the place were not optimal, and the location on a busy, noisy street makes it loud at night and early in the morning.

A super quiet and cozy spot with a lovely family who helped us in every way. You can rent a very cheap motorcycle nearby, the location is great, and surprisingly there’s AC, hot water, and a water filter! The breakfast was excellent, and they treated us like their own child. We would definitely come back.

I didn’t enjoy having to share a table with an uncle, which felt awkward when I wanted to keep to myself in the morning, and the room, especially the toilets, was noticeably unclean.

Everything here was genuinely delightful! The owners are the kindest people, and the food she prepares herself is truly amazing. It’s also very affordable and convenient because you can order directly to your door. We had real air conditioning, a rarity for backpackers in Sri Lanka. The beach and nightlife spots like Dots are just a 10‑minute walk away, and the other side of the property is about a 5‑minute walk from many lovely local restaurants. Overall, the staff are wonderful and the place is adorable—definitely worth a return visit!
