Everything was fine, and everything was also fine.

The stay was pleasant, and Flora was an excellent host. It would be good to treat the mattresses and air‑conditioners for mold.

The place is very quiet and I’d stayed there before, but the two trips could not have been more different; the first time I got a room where the air‑conditioning actually chilled, the bathroom was spotless, the curtains blocked the sun completely, and the glass‑walled room had a light film for privacy. The second visit was a nightmare: after contacting the lady at the inn in May, she offered a discount for a repeat stay, but then told me the room I wanted cost $450 during high season even though I had booked at $400, despite only two of the fifteen rooms being occupied. I noted on the site that I would check in at 20:00 because that was when I could arrive, yet they slapped a $25 fee on me for checking in after 18:00; I left work early to avoid that charge and thought it absurd to pay just to receive a key—I've checked in at 03:00 in other states without ever being charged. The bathroom had dirty walls and spider webs around the shower, the air‑conditioning barely cooled, and the windows lacked any privacy film, so I had to stay shut all day; they moved me to another room claiming my original one was occupied, when in fact it simply hadn’t been cleaned, leaving me with no privacy because the new room faced the front of the inn, its light curtains letting sun in as early as 06:00. I tried to relax but only got more stressed. The poolside umbrella had a cement foot that was supposed to keep it from blowing over, yet a gust turned it, dropping my phone and cracking the screen, costing me 2 500.00. The staff had no intercom for requests, forcing me to walk to the house for anything, and they even tried to charge another $25 to hand me the key when I fetched it myself. I’m unlikely to return; the setting is beautiful, but the lack of support made the stay very uncomfortable.
