Cha Am is a relaxed seaside town on the Gulf of Thailand, 170 kilometers south of Bangkok. The town centers on a wide, five-kilometer beach lined with pine trees and Ruamjit Road. You move between the seafood pier in the north, the active beach strip in the center, and the quiet town center west of Phetkasem Road.

A short history
Cha Am originated as a quiet fishing settlement named Ban Cha-Am. In 1923, King Rama VI commissioned the construction of Mrigadayavan Palace along its coast, transforming the area into a retreat for Thai royalty and elite families. Unlike neighboring Hua Hin, Cha Am preserved its agricultural and fishing roots, evolving into a preferred holiday spot for domestic weekenders from Bangkok.
