Kovalam

Kovalam is a trio of crescent beaches on Kerala's southern coast. High headlands split the shore into distinct coves, each serving a different pace of travel. You move between active fishing harbors, surf spots, and quiet cliffside paths easily on foot or by short auto-rickshaw rides.

Coastal Kerala cuisine centers on fresh catch, raw coconut, and curry leaves. Open-air display tables line the promenade each evening with whole snapper, kingfish, and calamari laid over ice. You select your fish by weight and specify the preparation style, typically marinated in red chilli paste and roasted inside banana leaves.
