Lovely riad with super friendly staff and good home‑cooked food if you want to eat in, but the town itself isn’t worth the trip; we came mainly to see the Portuguese Cistern, only to find it closed for “restoration” for over five years.

Very welcoming Riad in a normal neighbourhood and a short walk from the medina through narrow streets and market, giving us a taste of local life; on arrival we were treated to cake and tea and the staff helped us all the way, even arranging a comfy taxi for our onward journey. The air‑con was excellent and the room was huge, plus we loved the roof terrace and watching the tortoises up there. It would have been nice if the taxi driver could have called them for directions on arrival, since Google Maps sent us to the wrong spot.

Il quartiere ove è ubicato non è il massimo e il parcheggio, pubblico, è stato un po' “arrangiato” con due ruote sul marciapiede. Però, poi, una volta entrati, il Riad è un'oasi. Un giardino al piano terra al centro del Riad con piante d'alto fusto che arrivano fin su al Terrazzo, una elegante sala massaggi e Camere e Suite davvero ben arredate e ampie, ciascuna diversa per colore e per “caratteristiche”, Al primo piano c'è un ambiente comune composto da una parte di sala da pranzo veramente elegante e una parte a soggiorno con biblioteca e camino. La nostra camera, in terrazza, era la più piccolina del Riad ma comunque ben arredata (con anche armadio e cassaforte) e con un bagno grande e dotato di tutti i confort (specchio ingrandente, latte detergente e set di prodotti), ma, ha il privilegio di avere una parte esterna fruibile per rilassarsi e fumare. Personalmente sostituirei la tendina della doccia con una porta in vetro. Il personale è stato disponibile e attento e l'Host altrettanto. La colazione, buona e abbondante, servita in maniera egregia, con anche il tovagliato in tessuto
