“Stunning views, lovely staff”
The biggest highlights of the lodge are the views and the staff; every team member we met—from the front desk to the porter, guide, and restaurant crew—was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help. Breakfast was solid, offering cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread, and eggs on demand, with to‑go bags available if you needed it before 7 am. The lodge sits just outside the southern entrance of TDP park. The water pressure was awful—so low that it swung from boiling hot to freezing cold, making showering a struggle. Also, as noted in earlier reviews, toilet paper can’t be flushed (the same rule applies to other hotels in Rio Serrano). It would help to have small sanitary bags in the bathrooms to dispose of used paper before throwing it in the bin. I understand this is a remote spot, but for the price charged, basic necessities should be met.
