The onsen hotel stayed true to itself. It seems that Japanese people prefer newer hotels, but for foreign tourists it’s a real treat. Shoes are removed before even reaching the reception, the vibe feels family‑like, the dining area looks more like a school cafeteria, and there’s a shop area with local vegetables. You can go just for the baths, but staying here adds extra charm. Every room comes with a private hot bath overlooking the sea, which is simply amazing. The hotel also has a terrace where guests can enjoy sunset views and cats, all at a very affordable price. A beautiful spot worth visiting if you appreciate the Japanese countryside and retro hotels.

In the room you can soak in the onsen while enjoying the sunset.

Having a private onsen in the room was a real highlight. The front‑desk communication could use improvement—although we were told breakfast was available, we weren’t informed that it had to be booked a day in advance.

Great value for money, the room even had its own hot spring and the cafeteria served cheap, tasty food, yet the only thing around was the beach; there was nothing else nearby.
