The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the hotel had everything you’d need, though it’s pretty basic. Its location is excellent, close to nice bars and restaurants. However, the hotel feels geared toward party‑goers. I booked for a quick sleep before an early morning engagement, but loud conversations, doors slamming, and other guests’ late‑night antics kept me up past 10 pm. The old building lets sound through easily, and at 5 am a man screamed and banged on a door for about 10 minutes before someone intervened. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but it signals the place is more for nightlife than business. Also, there’s no tea/coffee kettle on the premises—you have to buy one from reception for a fee. Overall, it’s clean but worn and a bit shabby.

The spot was great, but the staff were nowhere near friendly or helpful. The whole place could use a serious clean‑up: the lift looked filthy, floor edges were grimy, and the whole building smelled awful. The room was a let‑down—dirty, stinky, and the shower was a mess that needed a deep clean. Skirting boards, curtains, vents with dust, and a clogged drain that filled with dirt made the stay unpleasant. I’d not come back.

The room was clean, central, and safe, fairly quiet, and the price was very good. The layout is a bit weird and easy to get lost in, but otherwise I can’t fault it at all for the price.

The location is great. The hotel was not very clean; there was a stain on the quilt cover and the air‑con in our room was filthy and broken, the buzzing sound from it woke us up a lot at night. It’s worth spending an extra £20 to stay somewhere else with much nicer facilities and guaranteed good sleep.
