Tranquility Island Eco Dive Resort

I really liked being on a remote island – the water was crystal clear and the sounds of waves made it easy to fall asleep. It was also nice to meet other travelers during meals, which are usually shared. However, there were hidden fees. The accommodation was cheap, but nobody warned us about transport costs. We stayed only two nights, yet we ended up paying almost double for transport. Three of us were quoted VT15,000 for a round‑trip shuttle bus plus boat, which is already pricey. On checkout, the hotel said their shuttle was full, so they booked us another transport that added an extra VT15,000 on top of the 15,000 we had already paid. We managed to negotiate a lower price, but the whole experience was unpleasant and I don't think we should have paid more than agreed, since none of it was our fault. I would also suggest confirming the price of any activities, like diving, in advance via chat, because we almost got charged twice the pre‑agreed price on the spot.

The location is absolutely amazing! The staff were all welcoming and lovely. It's a slice of paradise – very peaceful with fantastic snorkeling and beautiful beaches. Linda was an exceptional host, especially with the kids. The drivers, cooks, cleaners, and everyone else were wonderful. The food was delicious, and it was the highlight of our trip! Everything was just perfect.

Every bungalow has a private beachfront setting that feels rustic and authentic, surrounded by nature. We really appreciated all the thoughtful extras – the fireplace, hammock, books, and ready‑to‑use snorkeling gear. The food and the open‑air restaurant were beautiful. The trek to Fred’s Beach was unforgettable, with pristine snorkeling and a calm spot to relax. We loved how Mindy the dog would lead the way. This side of the island is nicely protected from the winds, unlike Tranquility which can be more exposed. The only downside was the winds and missing the chance to see Dugong, which were around the week before – not really a dislike, haha.

Basic accommodation but right on the beach with amazing scenery and snorkeling. A few bush walks lead to great beaches, enough for a 2 or 3 night stay. Great value for money. Lots of food is provided for extra money, reasonably priced.

The staff were friendly and hospitable. The snorkeling trips were fantastic, and we saw plenty of turtles; if you’re a diver, you’d see more by going a little deeper. The facilities were well organized, everything by the beach. The soothing waves rocked you to sleep, and waking up to the sunrise while still in bed was awesome. All meals were great and drinks were very reasonably priced. There was some Wi‑Fi available if you needed to stay connected, but the tranquility made it easy not to reach for your phone. All in all, a great relaxing resort.
