The food and the staff were excellent
“Dobré ubytování pro nenáročnou klientelu”
The menu was very varied at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The reception staff were very kind and willing, and they were truly client‑oriented. Anything missing in the room, or that needed replacing, they always handled quickly (whether it was swapping bath, beach or pool towels, or refilling toilet paper). The little gifts from the product range, found in the room at night (soap, body milk, drink) were nice. The hotel claims to be green and proactive, which is probably true, but some aspects of that approach lower the quality of accommodation to the expected level. For example, we didn’t notice a change of bedding during our stay of more than a week. Smoking is allowed on room balconies and on the pool, and the spaces are not separated – you can still smell cigarette smoke even when you’re not standing near it. The layout of the hotel, consisting of a main building and several annexes, is very uncomfortable for people with reduced mobility. When you have to go from the 3rd floor of the annex to the main building, it takes about 3 minutes on a sun‑lit path, which is really unpleasant. The hotel says it has reading corners in the greenery, but in reality they are just free‑standing lounge chairs in the garden, which mainly serve those who can’t get a spot on the pool lounger. The garden has only partial shade from trees – olive, fig and pomegranate – and it’s very natural, so if you don’t bring a repellent on your first visit you’ll leave badly bitten by mosquitoes and ants (almost all guests had visible bites on their legs for several days). A major drawback is the distance from the beach, where there are no loungers for hotel guests (but that’s a general problem on Zakynthos). So to get to the sea you can either walk a path through an olive grove that also serves as a parking lot, reaching the beach by long, ugly stairs (again unsuitable for people with mobility issues), or by a fairly busy road. The dining room is a little small for the number of guests, so even when it’s not full it feels crowded. Tables are often close together, making it hard to get up and it’s difficult to move between them. Many places are near open windows, so the sun pours in – the air‑conditioning effect is basically useless.
“Vale 100% la pena alojar en Castelli”
The hotel is amazing! Everything is in perfect condition. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is spectacular. The beds are comfortable.
“Ótimo”
The staff were very attentive, the food was good, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. They gave us a pool room, which really improved our experience because the hotel’s pool and loungers get full during the day, but the pool rooms are great and very quiet, plus comfortable. They gave us some little treats that made our stay even better. The hotel is old and, because of the humidity, the corridors had a bad smell.
“Our Home Away from Home in Laganas”
Castelli Hotel is perfectly located just minutes from the lively streets and beach of Laganas, while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our spacious Superior Swim-Up Room was spotless and comfortable, and the private pool made our stay feel extra special, while the service from every member of staff was truly exceptional. From the warm welcome to the excellent communication throughout our stay, we genuinely felt like part of the Castelli family and will definitely be returning. Really don't have anything bad to say. We were really satisfied with our stay and have no feedback at all
