This property is a smaller boutique hotel, which I prefer because it doesn’t feel crowded, making it quiet and relaxing. The staff is very welcoming and attentive, and they definitely want to make sure you’re comfortable. We were in a second floor room, which felt very private, and we both had the best sleep ever. They don’t skimp on the bedding, and it really made a difference! It’s directly on the beach, with a private area with lounge chairs and umbrellas, as well as a more secluded area by the pool. The location is great, with many restaurants within walking distance. You can get to most places by walking directly on the beach at night, which is very convenient. However, their restaurant is higher quality than most of the places we tried, and I wish I had eaten there more often. They also provide delicious fruit infused water at several stations throughout the property, so I highly recommend bringing a reusable water bottle. We also took a water taxi one night to go to dinner and arranged for the driver to pick us up a few hours later, so there are plenty of options if you don’t want to rent a car or deal with taxis. I also highly recommend arranging an airport pickup through the hotel. Our flight was delayed by seven hours, and they tracked our flight to make sure the driver was aware of the changes. This was our first time in Roatan, and before leaving for our trip, I read about sand fleas in one of the travel groups and was worried we would get eaten alive. But I didn’t come back with a single bite. I’m not sure if they’re less of a problem in West Bay or if the hotel’s practice of raking the sand helps, which I had heard can make a difference. Whatever they’re doing works, because I didn’t have to use any bug spray. nothing
