“Good food, good staff, lovely beds”

The food was good, though the continental breakfast was a bit small. The bedroom was great with comfortable beds, and the hotel maintained its standard well. My sister was married here about 50 years ago. The only issue we had was the stairs, which are a problem for my husband’s knees, and the bathroom window in room 9 needs replacing. My eyesight is deteriorating, so please read the above.

“lovely weekend away”

The food was always fresh and the beds were nice. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was great, and nothing was too troublesome. The décor was lovely. For older guests, a bath mat and hand rails are needed, a better toilet brush, and more frequent tea and coffee replenishment. The lamp shade was very tatty and two bedside lamps were required. There was fluff and dust in some places.

The room was nice and the bathroom was large and clean. We had lunch and the food was lovely. The décor feels a bit shabby and needs attention in both the dining room and bedroom. The bathroom had a lot of dust around the top of the tiles. We had breakfast, but it was only lukewarm and I didn’t like the sausage, so we left both.

“Very comfortable, but some improvements are necessary.”

The staff welcomed me warmly and were exceptionally helpful, though I couldn't reach them after going to bed. The Wi‑Fi was non‑functional; I called reception but no one answered and the voicemail box was full, so a rude automated message told me to try again later. The room was too hot and I didn't know how to lower the temperature until my husband woke up and switched off the radiator. The window couldn't be opened.
