“Lovely rural retreat”
Tranquil location Comfortable room Good choice at breakfast. We knew the property was out of town but arrived thinking we could get dinner next door. Both local restaurants were fully booked which left us a bit stuck. Our fault because we didn’t do our research but beware and plan ahead!
Everything was great, except the hotel sits a bit off the city center, so you’ll need a car to get to the restaurants.
The family‑friendly atmosphere was a highlight.
I was impressed by the quiet vibe and the room was pretty decent, but when we arrived the staff almost forced us to buy extra cards for free bus rides and activities in Frreudenstadt, only to later charge us €21 for two additional cards on top of the booking fee—what a surprise. The breakfast was super simple and light, nothing fancy.

The peace, the superb location in the Black Forest, and the friendliness of the hotel manager made everything enjoyable—there’s really nothing to complain about, just go and see for yourself.
