“Per fortuna era solo una notte”
The location was good, but the cleanliness was very poor and the furnishings were old; when I called, the receptionist spoke only English, making communication difficult.

The ceilings are high and the location is excellent, but the hot water was not working.

The spot was great, the space was lovely, and the communication was quick and helpful, but the carpet had a lot of stains that made the room look dirty even though it wasn’t; a small rug over part of the area might help.

There was nothing special, and the host didn’t reply in a timely manner when we arrived and gave us the wrong door code, so we had to contact him again on the second day.

We felt very comfortable; the room is in a top-floor apartment of an elegant, characteristic building with an elevator, spacious and with clean sheets (a few floor‑mat stains that are normal for hotels); check‑in and later access were easy thanks to the automated door‑code system sent before arrival. The common areas are great: a wide hallway at the entrance with sofas, a coffee machine and a fridge‑bar with fresh drinks to buy; a kitchen with pots, dishes and all condiments, a dining area next to the kitchen with a table and a fridge for guests to store fresh food; two bathrooms (one larger with a paid washing machine) both with windows and showers, always clean. The location was excellent for visiting Florence, the T2 stop ‘Belfiore’ is right in front of the entrance and takes you to the station stops ‘Valfonda’ or ‘Alamanni’ in 9 minutes on foot to the Duomo square (without public transport it’s about 20 minutes walking). If you arrive by car, parking requires separate arrangements that can waste time unless you’re willing to overpay: the lack of reserved parking means you have to find a paid spot in nearby streets (hard to find blue spots, white ones are for residents) or in the expensive multi‑storey parking at the fortress, or you can park for free far away but well connected by public transport. A big plus for those traveling with a dog, like us: pets are welcome and stay for free, and the large room is suitable for them.
