“Une expérience à vivre sans recherche de confort”

A beautiful wooden traditional house among the rice paddies. Pretty décor, the welcome is very pleasant and the local products served are delicious and very fresh. The basic bathrooms were very clean but not on the same floor as the room. There were also a lot of bedbugs flying everywhere, landing on the bedding and lights. It was quite unpleasant. Aside from that, the value for money is not very good and does not meet our European standards.

“Recommandé à 1000%”

An excellent experience that I recommend 1000%. Beyond a place to stay, it’s a real experience to discover pre‑modern Japanese life. The owners are very friendly and want to share their passion (thanks to the translator the discussion was very easy). The room is spacious and comfortable. Some modern amenities like Japanese toilets and an accessible fridge are perfect. I recommend the dinner and breakfast.

The owner’s friendliness and attentiveness were a highlight, though we noticed a lot of harmless beetles when we visited.

“Me encantó la experiencia”

I loved everything ♡ We could enjoy country life, dine and have breakfast on locally sourced food, and feel the essence of the countryside. The hosts were super kind and let us feed the goats. Everything was very clean and tidy, and it’s really easy to get there by bus from the Takayama bus station (the return bus drops you off right there). I totally recommend it if you want a quiet night away from the bustle ♡

This place blew us away—it was the best part of our trip. Satoshi was an excellent host, always ready to answer questions and chat, and we learned a lot about Japanese culture, food, and people. We adored the authenticity of the old house and the tasty traditional meals. We’d love to return in winter someday.
