The location is terrible if you only have a backpack; if you have suitcases it becomes a nightmare because taxis cannot enter the pedestrian street and there are stairs. It was one of the worst places I have stayed! The room was very damp, with almost no ventilation. The mold smell when opening the door was unbearable. We struggled to breathe all night, woke up with a blocked nose, sore throat, and sinus pain. The worst part was the roaches; seeing them was absolutely disgusting and turned our stay into a real nightmare! On the second night I killed about ten of the large brown insects. The location was also extremely hard to access; taxis refused to take us there and dropped us farther away, and carrying our luggage to the accommodation was exhausting. A pedestrian street with stones is not ideal for rolling suitcases, plus the stairs and slope… It would have been better for the establishment to add a note saying you have to walk and carry your luggage over 200 meters of slope and stairs. The place is okay for buying souvenirs, which cost three times the price in tourist streets in Tunis, but it is quite far from the beach, about thirty minutes on foot with a descent you could only do if you are very athletic.
