The staff were polite, helpful, and very friendly. I was booked into the W K Inn with my wife instead of the Bahari Lodge, even though I had paid for the higher‑standard, more expensive Bahari Lodge, so none of the amenities I paid for were available. When I pointed this out to Ahmed (I’m not sure if he was the owner or a representative), he said the Bahari Lodge was under renovation but refused to refund the price difference. Because my English was weak, I didn’t probe further. I also had to pay US$70 for speed boat (2 × US$35), even though that fee was already included in the Bahari Lodge rate. Since the ferry from Kaashidhoo to Male only ran twice a week, I had to extend my stay by two days. Ahmed demanded US$45 per night from me, while the room was listed at US$40 per night on the website. I was overcharged for a higher standard and then treated like a movable object, being relocated without asking for my consent or even informing me.
