We loved everything, especially Sergio’s welcome, a great guy who shows you all the best spots, introduces you to his lodge with a stunning lake view and sunsets, surrounded by lush vegetation. We saw all kinds of birds, including hummingbirds at breakfast, which was huge, and the eclectic décor of his dining room. Thanks, Sergio, for everything; we’ll definitely remember this stay.

The location is superb; from the lodge you get a stunning view of the lake and sleep right beside a 600‑year‑old Ceiba tree. Everything is thoughtfully designed with beautiful details. The breakfast is good, and Sergio, the host, offers many great tips.

The place is beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. Just be careful when you’re on the driveway.

The property sits deep in the jungle and you’ll need a 4x4 to get there. Breakfast fell short of expectations—margarine and hot dogs were a let‑down, so we left after one night.

The views of Lake Arenal were exceptional, and the tropical gardens around the property teemed with a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Sergio, our host, went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.
