The house and its surrounding grounds were gorgeous, evoking old Italy and feeling very romantic. It’s essential to drive or plan alternative transport, since there’s nothing nearby. The restaurant and food quality surpassed expectations; we ate wonderfully and savored the lunch and dinner. Breakfast was fine. The staff offered minimal hospitality; they did nothing wrong but showed little warmth. At arrival, there was little welcome and a very practical check‑in. In short, they did their job but seemed passive. We appreciated the effort to arrange rental bikes, but many requests required us to chase them, and no one checked in to see how our stay was going or if anything else was needed.

The atmosphere and pool were good. Ants were a problem, the air‑conditioning didn’t work properly, there was no Wi‑Fi in the room, and the pool was closed for the first few days. The staff seemed disinterested, the evening menu was only available Monday to Wednesday, and this wasn’t mentioned in the pre‑sent email.

The property itself is beautiful. The garden is well‑maintained, the ambience invites relaxation, and the free parking is convenient. We were especially impressed by the delicious dinner; after asking several times for more vegetarian options, they were provided and the dishes were excellent. We also liked that our feedback was taken seriously. As compensation for the wasp nest in our room, we received a bottle of wine, though we had to remind them again. The staff were overall polite, though somewhat reserved rather than especially hospitable, and the younger employees were very friendly. Unfortunately, the stay was marred by several avoidable issues. The biggest was a wasp nest in the bed on the first evening. After reporting it, we were only given fresh sheets and blankets and had to make the bed ourselves. The dirty sheets stayed in the room at first. The next day, the room was cleaned, but another wasp cocoon lay beside the bed and a dirty duvet was left on a chair. Cleanliness was clearly lacking. There was mold in the shower, a strong unpleasant smell in the bathroom, dirty floors, cobwebs, dust mites, and visibly neglected, outdated furniture. Organization and communication also needed improvement. The reception was often unstaffed and information was only provided on request. For example, we had to register for dinner at breakfast, but often no one was present to greet us. Those not registered were turned away. At the same time, we often had to find the service staff ourselves; breakfast was slowly restocked, the selection was small, and coffee sometimes arrived after we had finished eating. When we asked what we wanted to drink, the responses were irregular. Also unclear was which days a menu was offered and when à la carte was available. We found it somewhat misleading that the second pool area did not belong to the accommodation. The toilets at the pool were also unclean. The room was very damp, and the strong bathroom odor forced us to sleep with the window open. Consequently, the noise from the restaurant below was clearly audible at night and during breakfast.

Agriturismo Tenuta Castel Venezze provides a beautiful and cozy setting. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and well‑prepared, and the dinner was of excellent quality and very enjoyable. The pool is calmly located and offers necessary cooling on a hot day. The bathroom needed maintenance, but it still worked fine and was polished daily. The mattresses need renewal; there was a spring in the middle of the mattress that poked through, slightly reducing sleep quality.
